Mission of the LSU

The learner Services Unit has articulated its mission statement as follows:

To provide a wide range of quality services appropriate and responsive to the needs of our diverse learner and alumni population which are customized to suit the nature of e-learning delivery model. 

The specific goals that emanate from this mission statement are:  

• To plan for the development, delivery and maintenance of appropriate learners' support services such as provision of learning resources, alumni, career counseling and planning services, financial assistance and scholarship merits, etc. 
  
• To empower learners to attain their goals toward total development by providing them with relevant activities opportunities and challenges that will make them globally competitive, upright, and discipline individuals. 
  
• To examine learner interests and needs and provide services which are adequate to their needs and interest. 
  
• To plan, implement, and provide supervision for extracurricular activities such as learner publications and formation of learner clubs, associations, etc. 
  
• To provide learners with adequate learning resources to achieve their learning goals. 
  
• To provide prospective and current learners with pre and post admission orientation. 
  
• To continuously develop and conduct workshops, seminars, tutorials and guides to enhance learning skills and abilities.

Vision

Based on the mission of the University and the goals of the Academic and Learner Affairs Department, the LSU articulates its vision as follows:

To provide a learner-centered learning environment through curricular and co-curricular services and activities and demonstrating a commitment to the development of the overall personality of the learner.
