The Centre for Arabization and Program Integrity (CAPI) was created with the primary purpose of supporting the adaptation of internationally recognized programs and learning resources to Arabic with the preservation of content integrity and by ensuring that the intended learning objectives are still achievable.
MISSION
To be a Centre of Excellence in facilitating learning in Arabic and any other medium preferred by the Hamdan Bin Mohammed e-University learner, and to act as a key catalyst for the development and provision of online current and up to date TQM-based knowledge resources.
Goals
In support of its mission, CAPI goals are as follows:
- To support the translation of all programs that the Hamdan Bin Mohammed e-University intends to deliver to its Arab learner population;
- To Arabize books in TQM and related fields to support the programs offered in Arabic especially those of the Hamdan Bin Mohammed Centers of Excellence and to disseminate knowledge in TQM and related fields to the Arabic reader;
- To work on a continuous basis with tutors and representatives from legislative and partner institutions on matters of quality assurance of Arabization/translation and program integrity;
- To ensure that all the converted assessment materials, including formal examinations, and exam transcripts are translated in either/both languages (English and Arabic), scrutinized and approved by Dean for Academic Programs, program directors, respective faculty and representatives from partner institutions;
- To translate on a continuous basis support materials in the form of periodicals, articles, booklets, reports etc. and to make sure that learners are not disadvantaged by the lack of information in Arabic;
- To work on building an e-library in TQM and related fields augmented by Arabic information resources to go alongside the already abundant resources available in English;
Translation codes
The below essential factors, that CAPI executes on each translation project, focus on the critical aspects of the targeted language. These factors align with the world wide standards of accredited translation:

Authenticity:
- The translated text should read as an original, written in the target language. We therefore select native translators in the country of our target audience. It is important to note that we refer to the target audience, not only the target language. Language is a living entity which takes on the cultural identity of its region. Because of this, we select teams of native speakers from the target country of choice.

Linguistic Precision:
- The content of the translation needs to be linguistically accurate. We therefore only use native speakers with at least 5 years of translation experience.

Subject Precision:
- We select translators with the required subject related background. Once we have determined the appropriate subject background for the translations, we select our team accordingly.

Methodology:
- All translations run through a three stage quality control process: Translation, Editing and Proofing. Three independent linguists will work on each project and ensure that no detail is left unattended.

Uniformity:
- The translated project message has to evoke the same image in all languages. By managing the translated work as a whole and its interpreting needs, and through the use of modern translation memory tools, we ensure that the content stays consistent.
