Q1. How do I obtain a UAE visa?
Depending on your citizenship or place of residence, you can either obtain a UAE visa upon arrival or beforehand.
Steps to obtain a UAE visa:
1. Identify which of the following category you belong to
GCC Citizens - Citizens of the Gulf Co-operation Council (Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Bahrain, UAE) do not need a visa.
GCC Residents - GCC expatriate residents may obtain a non-renewable 30-day visa upon arrival. Residents must have at least 6 months validity on their passport and residence visa.
UK Citizens - Residents of the UK with the right to abide in the United Kingdom may obtain a free visa on arrival, valid for 60 days from the date of entry.
Selected Countries - Citizens of the following 33 countries are given a visit visa upon arrival to the UAE. It is valid for 60 days from the date of entry: Andorra, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brunei, Canada, Cyprus, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hong Kong, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Malaysia, Malta, Monaco, New Zealand, Norway, Portugal, San Marino, Singapore, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, the United States and the Vatican.
2. If you do not fall under any of the categories mentioned above, there are three ways in which you can apply for a UAE visa:
a. Through your hotel: When making a hotel reservation, ask for your hotel to arrange a visa for you.
b. Through your airline: If you are flying on Emirates Airlines, they can arrange a visa for you. Contact them at least two weeks prior to your flight to make arrangements.
c. Through the UAE embassy in your country: Contact information is available here. In addition to your passport, passport photographs and application form, you will need to submit a letter from Middle East Quality Association stating that you will be attending MEQA 2nd Annual Congress.
